Currently the seat of the French Senate, Luxembourg Palace is a 17th-century palace with original artwork and a grand salon you can tour. The palace was commissioned by Marie de Médici in 1625, and the painting "Coronation of Marie de' Médici in St.-Denis" is displayed in the Gallery of Residents. Also look for portraits of Anne, Duchess of Montpensier; Louis XVIII of France; and Cardinal Richelieu. Luxembourg Palace Reviews
more »This palace faces the Luxembourg Park. It used to be used as a capitol of the French government's Senate. In addition, it is a building that appears on the stage of history, such as the throne of Napoleon Bonaparte. When I approached, soldiers or police officers with rifles were on tight security to threaten us.

She bought land up to something she must have missed at home from Florence, namely Pitti-Palace and the Boboli Gardens after the Renaissance ideas. So the new castle had to be built according to the same principles with the interior yard (s), but there is however not only a flat roof, there are small tower buildings and the building parts are easily displaced like the windows are heavily marked. It is really a very harmonious building and seems to fit as a foot in a hose to the large garden. As you will notice, there are neither tall towers nor spires on the building-it was definitely not the taste of the time.
Beautiful landscape, touring the garden area is a must! But be wary of doing so on a sunny day, it will be busy for sure! I went when it was slightly rainy and cloudy, and while there were still a lot of people it wasn't too bad. Not sure if you're allowed to have picnics here - certainly no one was stopping for a meal when I was there - but it would be a great place to relax over lunch.
Beautiful but beaware of of going in the rain. Will destroy your shoes. However there are a few nice pavilions to take shelter in. Check out the fountain, it really is lovely. Across the street there's several good cafes with a view of then palace.
