Chateau de Queribus is a historic ruined castle and one of the French Ministry of Culture's historic monuments. One of five Cathar Castles, it was built strategically along the French border with Spain. The castle stands isolated on a high peak with a view of the surrounding terrain, giving it a tremendous tactical advantage over attackers.   • We did a marathon 1/2 day trip from Carcassonne. It was nearly 2 hours to drive each way. However, the site of this ancient castle is really spectacular. The walk takes 10+ minutes from the parking.....  more »
