Bata Cathedral, Bata

#4 of 12 in Things to do in Equatorial Guinea
Church · Hidden Gem · Tourist Spot
The building, finished in 1954 and renovated in 2005, boasts a neo-Gothic style reflective of the period in which it was completed (during the Spanish rule). Local missionaries built the structure, which features an ornate ceiling. If you're lucky, you can even take part in the bishop's service, which lasts from one to four hours depending on the day. • When I came to the Bata Chathedral, I was so disgusted at the entire place all I could say was, "Uh oh, stinky."  more »
  • Nice cathedral. Situated a little bit outside of the city centre. Very nice interior! Other sights of Bata are Torre de la Libertad and the square around the clock tower.  more »
