Muzeum komunismu, Prague

3.5
Step behind the Iron Curtain with a visit to Muzeum komunismu, dedicated to the story of ordinary Czechs struggling for democracy in the decades following World War II. Established in 2001 by businessman Glenn Spicker, the museum is located in an 18th-century palace near the center of the city. Spicker gathered many of the displayed artifacts, which include photographs and military objects, at flea markets and junk shops in and around Prague. The museum's three galleries offer visitors a fully immersive experience, complete with film screenings and educational lectures. Start your exploration at the museum's reconstructed classroom, offering insight into a day in the life of a Communist-era schoolchild. • Easy-to-follow & it takes about two hours to finish. It has a nice, simple interior with a reasonable entrance fee. It was absolutely roasting when I was walking inside it though which made it a bit sleepy. It served up some interesting displays and memories of a not-so-distant past and also explained how the present is dictated currently.
  • Good place to visit, a bit pricey. I would definitely recommend to spend like 2 hours there and read some very interesting information about communism in Prague, also available to watch some videos and take cool pictures. Five stars to this place just because it's one of the best museum's I ever visited.
