  • This place is awesome. Lots of historical items to view and things to read. If visual isn't enough for you they have audio too! Photography is allowed. Has observation lounge and decks so you can watch ships pass through lock 3 inside or outside. Has a small snack bar with coffee machine and light snacks, and a neat gift shop. Worth a visit for sure. While no admission fee per say, a donation of $4 per person is good. (Or more if you like!) ALSO they have the actual red ryder carbine action 200 shot range model air rifle from the cult classic movie 'A Christmas Story' and really, how cool is that.
  • I didn't know about this museum until a few months ago. It is free to visit (they do accept donations) and we thoroughly enjoyed the exhibits. There is plenty to see but not so much that it's overwhelming. The location on the canal is lovely and it would be a beautiful spot to visit in the good weather.
