St. Georgenberg Abbey is a Benedictine monastery, the oldest extant monastery in the Tyrol, founded in 1138 but from 1708 to 2019 removed to the nearby city of Fiecht in the community of Vomp in Tyrol, Austria. In 2019 the monks returned to a restored abbey at St. Georgenberg, which had remained a place of pilgrimage and spiritual retreat.

After reaching the head of Wolfsklamm one can continue on the trail up to the St. Georgenberg church, which sits at the tip of an outcropping between 2 gorges. The trail becomes steeper than in the..... more »

Good place to visit after a verry good walk in the wolfsklamm. We had a good meal in the monastry. We had a good view and we had a good meal and a beer to go. By the way they have good ice Cream... more »

Beautiful walk via the impressive Wolfsklamm to the monastery. Pretty steep walk. Very nice view. In the small restaurant in the monastery they serve some good plates, beers, other drinks, and ice cream. Beautiful church with lots of gold.
